The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWARSYSCOM), onbehalf of the Program Executive Office (PEO) for Command, Control,Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I), Submarine IntegrationProgram Office, PMW-770, intends to issue a full and open competitiveRequest For Proposal (RFP) for the production and delivery of up to onehundred and fifteen (115) radome kits for the Submarine High Data Rate(SubHDR) antenna system. The contract is anticipated to consist of one baseyear and four one year options; award is anticipated in the 3rd quarter offiscalyear 2012. The radome kits will be procured on a firm fixed price basis.
The SubHDR antenna system provides submarines with worldwide, high capacitycommunications in Extremely High Frequency (EHF) and Super High Frequency(SHF). This system supports current and emerging information transferrequirements of the multi-mission, highly mobile, covert submarine platformsupporting Joint, Naval, and Allied Forces. The SubHDR antenna systemutilizes a radome to protect the antenna assembly from sea pressure whileallowing Radio Frequency waves to pass with minimal loss.
