NASA/MSFC has a requirement for thirty-two (32) Magma 16 slot PCI Express Expansion Chassises. The Magma brand PCI Express Expansion System is the only system that supports multiple PCI Express boards making them transparent to the real-time operating system of the concurrent servers without the need for any additional software. Magma has a reliable system startup and card compatibility with the various I/O cards currently utilized in the IATF labs. The Magma brand expansion systems' direct memory access (DMA) speeds meets the real-time environment requirements of the IATF labs.
NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Magma Mission Technology Group, Inc.
The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.
Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on Tuesday, July 9, 2014. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
