The Department of Energyâs Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL), operated by Princeton University, is seeking interested sources to provide a total of sixty (60) cryogenically (liquid nitrogen) cooled copper coils. These include twelve (12) ring or poloidal field (PF) coils, varying in diameter from 21 inches to 107 inches, as well as eighteen (18) D-shaped toroidal field (TF) coils 41 inches wide by 110 inches high. Also included are a total of thirty (30) smaller Trim coils of a bent, wedged geometry. These trim coils range in size from 38 inches by 42 inches, to 22 inches by 111 inches. Conductor material may be CDA104, CDA105, or CDA107 oxygen free silver bearing copper. Please visit the âNCSX Manufacturing Web Pageâ at http://ncsx.pppl.gov/NCSX_MFG/ then click on the âAdv. Mfg. Info.â button near the top of the page for links to preliminary outline drawings for these coils (ref: âNCSX Conventional Coilsâ posting at the bottom of the page). This information is preliminary, provided for information purposes only, and is not suitable or approved for fabrication. This announcement is not a request for proposals (RFP). The RFP for the TF Coils is expected to be released in January 2005. The RFP(s) for the PF Coils and Trim Coils will be released on or about April 2006. Statements of interest or questions concerning this announcement should be sent to Rodney D. Templon via email
[email protected] and must include the Company name and address and the name, telephone number, fax number and email address of the responsible point of contact for this action. Further information about PPPL and the NCSX project can be obtained from the PPPL website at www.pppl.gov.
