The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to procure on an other than full and open competition basis the following items: Qty 20 SiC wafers. This requirement is sole sourced to Cree Inc, 4600 Silicon Drive, Durham NC 27703, due to these SiC wafers are unique to this vendor. There are no other manufacturers or distributors that offer 4H-SiC, n-type, 100 mm wafers with resistivity greater than or equal to 2 ohm-cm. This high resistivity is needed to integrate these wafers into high damage threshold power meters. Any firms believing that they can provide the Cree Inc, SiC wafers may submit a written response to be received at the Contracting Office no later than 5 days after the date of publication of this notice. It must clearly show the firm’s ability to be responsive without compromising the quality, accuracy or reliability without causing programmatic hardship.
