NAVSUP, Fleet Logistics Center, in support of Naval Base, Yokosuka, Japan is soliciting for a firm, fixed price, supply type contract to be negotiated on a sole source basis with Siemon, Mohawk, Panduit, Corning and Chatsworth and Brand Name or Equal for specified line items, for over 14,000 each, various Fiber Optic Equipment. Due to compatibility issues, the required items must be procured from subject contractor or equal brands. Place of delivery is Japan. The commercial solicitation will be issued on or about 10 September 2011 with a closing date of 16 September 2011. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
