SCOPE OF WORK AND GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR:
SUCTION REGULATORS
1. Background
The Gulf Coast Veterans Healthcare System (GCVHCS) is in need of 80 Boehringer 3800 series or equal suction regulators.
2. Specifications
The GCVHCS desires the following salient characteristics for the suction regulators:
Must meet current AAMI/ANSI/ISO standards
Capable of being autoclaved without compromising functionality
All components and materials must be stainless steel
Must show durability testing by dropping at least 4 feet from ground on surface like concrete
Capable of maintaining ñ10% of setting on an occluded OR open 14Fr catheter.
Capable of delivering 85lpm when set at 100mmHg from an NFPA 99 code outlet.
Gauge has a 180ð viewing angle does not require calibration
Regulated suction is limited to 200mmHg in compliance with AACN & AARC guidelines for adult procedures (3800 & 3804).
Unit has safety interlock to prevent inadvertent application of LINE vacuum (>500mmHg).
Unit has single piece metal control valve to provide for suction in emergent situations.
Unit has tactile markers on dial to notify staff of proper alignment
Materials are self extinguishing per the requirements of UL 94V 0

Turnkey installation of regulators
Training for clinical staff
Contractor shall supply past performance testing of regulators to demonstrate ability to fulfill characteristics.

Contractor shall report to the Biomed Shop, Building 1 Room 2B112. VAMC, Biloxi, MS 39531 to sign in before making service call.
The contractor shall ship all parts and provide service within 14 days of award.
Any part or service not covered by this service contract will not be completed without first consulting with the contracting officer s representative and subsequently procuring a formal purchase order from the VAMC, Engineering Service, Biloxi, MS 39531.
Contractor shall provide services during normal work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except Federal Holidays. Federal Holidays: New Year s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and any other day specifically declared a by the President of the United States to be a federal holiday.
The equipment shall have at least a 1 year warranty which starts when the installation and training is completed.
The contractor, their personnel, and their subcontractors shall be subject to the Federal laws, regulations, standards, and VA Directives and Handbooks regarding information and information system security as delineated in this contract.
The C&A requirements do not apply and a Security Accreditation Package is not required.
No sensitive information should be accessed, to ensure this, a Clinical Engineering Tech will escort the contractor the entire time they are on-site and have all studies currently stored on the unit deleted before contractor arrives.
