VA-261-09-RP-0340, for Zoom Motorized Patient Transport Solution 6 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with (IAW) the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received prior to 4 September 2009 will be reviewed by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This solicitation VA-261-09-RP-0340 is issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-36. Only emailed requests received directly from the requester are acceptable. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) number is 423450 and the business size standard is small, 100 employees. ITEM DESCRIPTION The Stryker Zoom Stretcher Solution is a motorized stretcher able to move a 700 pound patient with only 4 pounds of pressure. The stretcher has several ergonomic features: there is a lift assist backrest that uses a patient's own weight to raise and lower a patient by 50%.; the patient can be positioned on the stretcher to effortlessly to protect the staffs back and eliminating repetitive bending and strain. Advanced Zoom technology, provides smooth and efficient patient transport up to 700 pounds. The exclusive drop-seat design uses the patient's own weight to make raising and lowering the backrest easy and eliminates excess strain on the staff. Stryker's Glideaway side-rails provide maximum patient security when raised and provides zero transfer gaps. Mounted under the litter, Stryker's oxygen bottle holder offers outstanding access and back protection by eliminating repetitive bending. By combining the backrest and the hydraulic knee gatch, patients may be positioned in a comfortable recovery chair like position. Stryker's innovative knee assist hydraulic control eliminates cranking. Instead you simply slide the knee gatch lever horizontally to raise and lower the litter. The Stryker Zoom Patient Transport Solution is a motorized stretcher that will be used to transport VA patients at the San Francisco VA Medical center.
