This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation 528-31-05 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) and incorporates provisions and clauses in affect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-05. Due to the urgent need of this procurement, the requirement is being solicited as a sole source acquisition. The North American Industrial Classification System code is 33411 (electronic computer manufacturing). The Small Business Size Standard is 1,000 employees. The Government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price purchase order under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The VA Western New York Healthcare System has an urgent requirement for the following: ORS-1075HS Hush-Slush Machine The equipment incorporates the following features: • Produces high quality slush on a consistent basis with no sharp ice chips that can damage organs and nerves • Reduces potential of cross contamination compared to freezing bags or bottles • Produces slush with a minimum of nursing time • Does not require sterile basin • Eliminates the pre-cool cycle • Reduces “Ice-Ring” formation • Eliminates need for scraping and chipping of ice from the basin wall • Allows scrub nurse to operate controls in the sterile field • Optional fluid warmer offers controlled temperature of irrigation fluids • Does not require transfer medium i.e. alcohol
