The VA Connecticut Healthcare System intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Boston Scientific, One Boston Scientific Place, Natick, MA 01760 to acquire a Swiss Ultra Lith Surgical System for stone management in the ureter, the kdney and the bladder. This is sole source procurement from the manufacturer's (EMS Medical) exclusive U.S. distributer, Boston Scientific. This system is the same as the existing system which just recently broke down. It is imperative that VA CT procure this Swiss LithoClast system as soon as possibel so as to provided the continuity of Urological care that they deserve. This procurement is under the authority of FAR 6.302. The Government will consider all proposals received by 9/23/05. A determination based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. See note 22
