Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service
A. General Information
1.0 Introduction:
Brain Natriuretic Peptide, (BNP) is a Third party reagent that must be manufactured to specifically run on the Beckman-Coulter DXI 800 and DXI 600 Immunoassay analyzers. Beckman Coulter is our Current Immunoassay Vendor, no other reagents exist, other than those listed in the VENDOR SCOPE section 2.1.1 . The BNP Reagent pack and Calibrators must also be compatible with the Beckman-Coulter on board instrument Software. Our physicians rely on these test results in the diagnosis and treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in our patients. They have come to expect and depend on the high level of service and quality results put out by this laboratory. Disruption of this service will be detrimental to the care of our patients.

1.1 Objectives
The desired goals of testing by the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service are as follows:
1.1.1 Continuance of the high level of service our customers deserve and expect.
1.1.2 Improve patient care and customer service/satisfaction.
1.1.3 Reduce laboratory cost and result turnaround time.
1.1.4 Act as a reference laboratory within VHA making this testing available to other VA Medical Centers.
2.0 Scope of Work:
2.0.1 This is a Reagent Purchase type agreement under which the vendor will make available the products necessary for performance of testing and the customer will purchase from the vendor all reagents, consumables or supplies as need for testing.
2.0.2 Vendor will provide technical support.
2.0.3 Alere is the manufacture of this product, but distributes through Fisher Scientific and Cardinal.

2.1 Contractor Scope
The Contractor will:
2.1.1 Provide all reagents, consumables or supplies listed in the following table as needed.

2.1.2 Deliver products to 921 NE 13th Street, Oklahoma City, OK upon request from Pathology and Laboratory VAMC Oklahoma City Point of Contact. (the point of contact will be identified after award)
2.1.3 Provide technical support as needed.
2.2 Customer Scope
The Customer will:
2.2.1 Request from contractor as needed all listed reagents when necessary to perform the test.
2.2.2 Perform the test using manufacture intended parameters and adhere to specified product storage and handling conditions.
2.3 Scope of Agreement
2.3.1 Invoices will be issued for ordered products at the time of shipment. Payment is due
Within 30 days of invoice.
2.3.3 No minimum or maximum product purchase or monetary commitment is implied or
required.
