The Wilmington, Veterans Administration Medical Center, located in Wilmington, Delaware intends to enter into a sole source contract with Erbe. The contract is to obtain, by the use of Other than Full and Open competition, ERBE Argon Coagulator for the new GI Suite. The ERBE Argon Coagulators are currently used in the Wilmington VAMC, and it is the policy of the Equipment Committee to standardize clinical equipment throughout the facility. Having mulltiple makes and models of equipment that serve the same function throughout the facility would not allow the Equipment committee or clinicians the best opportunity to provide consistent, reliable, or manageable patient care. This piece of equipment must be delivered to allow the entire 3 East ward to open by the middle of April 2010. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. a determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
