The Detroit VA Medical Center, 4646 John R Street, Detroit, MI 48201 intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with ERBE USA, 2225 Northwest Parkway, Marietta, GA 30067. The proposed contract action is for the purchase of an Argon Plasma Coagulator Fl-Probe socket and accessories. This Argon Plasma Coagulator System provides automatic dosing of power for increased confidence and it auto regulates beam ignition. It must use Argon 4.8 gas, have variable gas flow, purging flow and purging time. It must be 16.1 x 3.1 x 14.6. It must also have an apparatus for monitoring the application of neutral electrodes on a patient undergoing high frequency electro-surgery, self oscillating power stage for inverted rectifier power supply and a feedback-coupled high-frequency power oscillator. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-3(a)(2)(ii). All FAR provisions and clauses may be reviewed and/or obtained from the General Service Internet address http://www.arnet.gov/far. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract, based upon responses to this notice, is solely the discretion of the government.
