Page 1 of 1 36C24219Q0322 SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLICIT TO A SOLE SOURCE BD CareFusion - Pyxis Med-Station - Rochester CBOC The Department of Veterans Affairs, Canandaigua VA Medical Center, Rochester CBOC located at 260 Calkins Road, Henrietta, NY 14623, intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The NAICS code is 339112 with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with BD CareFusion, 3750 Torrey View CT, San Diego, CA 92130. This requirement is valued above the Simplified Acquisition Threshold, the equipment is on Schedule 65II of GSA. The Non- Manufacturer Rules apply since there is no waiver in place for this requirement. BD CareFusion is the exclusive manufacturer of Pyxis products. Only BD CareFusion and its Field Service Technician Affiliates have the capabilities and authorization necessary to perform installation and maintenance services for Pyxis products. Performance of those services by any other party voids any warranty for the serviced products. This expectant contract resulting from the solicitation is intended be a Firm Fixed Price, single award purchase order. The Pyxis Med Station uses a platform solution technology reduces medication errors, inefficiencies and increases medication availability. It is secure, provides quick access and electronic documentation for controlled substances and waste. This system automates charge and cost capture. It facilitates administration verification and medication tracking. It is simple, provides patient centric workflows, enhances security and capabilities that interact with the current health systems. It also, increases medication security by restricting access to one medication at a time and a locked lid only releasing when the specific drug is selected. This Notice of Intent is not a request for Proposals or Quotations. No solicitation document exists and no telephone or email inquiries will be accepted. No contract award will be made based on proposals, or quotations received in response to this notice. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, and should furnish detailed data concerning their capabilities to provide services sought including pricing data and technical data enough to determine that a comparable source to the government is available. The government may consider all Expressions of Interest received by Friday, February 15, 2019 at 1:00 PM EST. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
