INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 6, in support of the Asheville VA Medical Center intends to enter into a sole source procurement with Abbott Laboratories for consignment of Cardiovascular Balloon Expanding Stents and Wires. The primary objective of this procurement is to establish a minimum inventory on hand that will be purchased as it is used and replenished by the vendor. NAICS code 339113 applies to this procurement. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. However, interested parties who believe they can meet this requirement shall submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability, to include proof of distributorship of specified brand-name-only item(s) in providing the same product. Responses can be submitted to [email protected]. Responses received by 10:00 am on June 20, 2014 will be considered. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. No solicitation will be made available for this procurement. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
