STATEMENT OF WORK
GENERAL INFORMATION
Introduction and Overview: The Operating Room in Northport VAMC located in 79 Middleville Road Northport, NY 11768 is requesting the purchase of one (1) vitreoretinal microsurgical system.
Scope of Work: The vendor shall provide one (1) vitreoretinal microsurgical system. This system must have minimum requirements including cut rate of 5000 cuts-per-minute (cpm), attached direct laser module and auto gas fill, and capability for 23-, 25-, and 27-gauge microsurgery. Additional equipment includes an indirect laser system, laser filters for the surgical microscope, and phacofragmatome hand piece for cataract removal. The vitrector will occupy about 6 square feet of floor space.
Background: The vitreoretinal microsurgical system is the main instrument necessary for surgical repair of retinal disorders, including retinal detachments, complications of diabetic retinopathy, complications for cataract surgery, macular hole repair, and traumatic ruptured globes.
