The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 508 Fulton Street, Durham, North Carolina is in need of Dialysis Equipment equivalent to Cobe Model Phoenix Dialysis System. System must meet or exceed the following: System must be capable of performing and displaying real-time, non-invasive evaluation of hemodialysis efficiency; must be able to utilize single and/or double needles and support a minimum blood flow of 500 ml/minute; must have minimum ability to achieve and maintain pumping rate of 800 ml/minute; must be able to utilize disposable sodium bicarbonate cartridges and bicarbonate concentrate; must be compatible with 35X and 45X acid concentrates; must be capable of profiling final conductivity activity; must be able to perform dialysis function at temperature of 34 C, (cold dialysis); must have adjustable rate for ultrafiltration and must be capable of profiling ultrafiltration rate activity; have built in adjustable delivery heparin pump; able to simultaneously monitor arterial blood pressure, venous blood pressure and must be able to on line monitor delivered dialysis via the direct/indirect method; have the ability to detect and auto alarm upon detection of air in the dialysis delivery and/or extracorporeal blood loss; and must be able to upload and download information to an IBM equivalent PC operating with MS Windows operating system software and must be compatible with the VA CPRS.
