The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, ALOSH, Morgantown, WV requires a digital X-ray system for their Targeted Coal Workers’ Health Surveillance program. The equipment must be suitable for installation in a mobile examination van (being supplied by Lifeline Shelter Systems) to be used for a chest radiographic screening program that will be performed at mine sites throughout the United States for the purpose of detecting pneumoconiosis. The vendor is expected to provide all software and hardware required for the acquisition, quality control and assurance, storage, archiving, and electronic transfer of high quality and high resolution computed radiography chest images, as well as training, technical support, maintenance, and repairs on a continuing basis. The system should be compact, with a small footprint and include all hardware required for installation in a mobile x-ray vehicle that will travel to rugged and isolated areas across the United States. The system must be demonstrably suitable for mobile applications, including full system support by uninterruptible power supplies.
