The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 17, intends to award a Firm Fixed Price, Sole Source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii) to St. Jude Medical., 1 Lillehei Plaza St. Paul, MN 55117 for the procurement of a brand name EnSite Precision TM Cardiac Mapping System Upgrade. This order for brand name software and hardware, to be performed within 30 days of contract award, will be placed on a sole source basis with St. Jude Medical as the following circumstance in FAR 13.106-1(b) applies: only one source is capable to provide the services required at the level of quality required because the software and hardware are unique or highly specialized. The Logistic Service Department at the VA South Texas HCS in San Antonio, TX currently utilizes a compatible Ensite Precision Mapping System. This requirement will provide for the upgrade of Ensite Precision TM Cardiac Mapping . Brand name is required to ensure interoperability between software and product. The substitution of any other software/hardware other than brand name will not guarantee interoperability and cause duplication of cost to the Government. Delivery schedule will be discussed prior to issuing the contract award. The anticipated award date is February 8, 2018.
