The Cincinnati VA Medical Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with St. Jude Medical S.C., Inc. to purchase a system for mapping arrhythmia and facilitating electrophysiology procedures (EnSite System). The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 334510 and the Government believes that St. Jude Medical S.C., Inc. is a Large Business and the only manufacturer that can satisfy the agency requirements. Therefore, the Government intends to proceed with a sole source procurement for the required equipment. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302 - only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. To the best of our knowledge, St. Jude Medical Services, Inc., Saint Paul, MN is the only source that provides the above indicated items and features. This is a notice of intent to sole source and is not a request for competitive quotes. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within three (3) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Telephone and facsimile requests/inquiries will not be accepted. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements.
