NOTICE OF INTENT Solicitation number N00259-11-T-0332 is issued as a notice to Procure from only one source IAW FAR 13.106-1(b). This proposed contract action is Evicel Fibrin Sealant as an adjunct to hemostatis for use for patients undergoing surgery, when control of bleeding by standard surgical techniques (such as suture, ligature or cautery) is ineffective or impractical. The Naval Medical Center San Diego intends to solicit with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). The source is Ethicon., Route 22 Somerville New Jersey 8876 CAGE Code: 10614, NAICS: 339112. Justification: As required by FAR 13.106-1(b), the Contracting Officer has determined that Ethicon(Advance Sterilization products), is the ONLY company that manufactures EVICEL Fibrin Sealant. IAW FAR 5.207(c) (15) (ii), all responsible sources may submit a quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. The government will only consider firm, fixed price quotations. The attached solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC 2005-43.
