Page 1 of 1 The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 17, intends to award a Firm Fixed Price, Sole Source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii) to GE Healthcare General Electric Company., 9900 W Innovation Dr. Wauwatosa, WI 53226 for the procurement of a brand name General Electric Replacement of part #5399000-12 for GE Detector EE#129507. This order for brand name software and hardware, to be performed within 30 days of contract award, will be placed on a sole source basis with General Electric as the following circumstance in FAR 13.106-1(b) applies: only one source is capable to provide the services required at the level of quality required because the software and hardware are unique or highly specialized. The Engineering Biomed Department at the VA North Texas HCS in Dallas, TX currently utilizes a General Electric part. This requirement will provide for the replacement of General Electric part #5399000-12 for GE Detector EE#129507. Brand name is required to ensure interoperability between part number 5399000-12 and GE Detector EE#129507. The substitution of any other software/hardware other than brand name will not guarantee interoperability and cause duplication of cost to the Government. Delivery schedule will be discussed prior to issuing the contract award. The anticipated award date is February 8, 2018.
