The VA Connecticut Healthcare System intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Fresenius USA Inc.,of Gurnee, IL in obtaining 21 COMM/Mounted data entry Chairside machine devices. These devices are designed to work in conjunction with the existing 21 Fresenius 2008K System Dialysis machines in our Dialysis Service. These devices shall monitor, track and log each patients data regarding their dialysis treatment on said machines. The VA is unaware of any other such devices that are compatible with existing machines that would allow the continuity of patient care while allowing data tracking. This procurement is under the authority of FAR 6.302. A determination based upon response to this notice is soley within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered soley for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. See note 22.
