The Acquisition Service Center, VISN 9, intends to negotiate with Alcon Laboratories, 6201 South Freeway, Fort Worth, Texas, on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.301-1 for the purchase of an Infiniti Vision System Ozil with VideOverlay. The system will be utilized at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Mtn Home, Tennessee. System consists of Infiniti System Ozil with VideOverlay with footswitch, Aqualase Liquefaction Device Hand Piece, One year warranty, additional Ultraflow handpiece with interchangeable tips, and Ultraflow handpiece with threaded adaptor. System uses ultrasonic oscillations to reduce repulsion and liquefaction to wash away soft to medium density lenses. NAICS Code 339112 applies. Firm must also be able to provide trade in credit of Legacy Unit. Firms who wish to identify their interest and capability to provide an alternate system which will meet the capabilities and functionality described above may notify the Contracting Officer in writing, no later than 4 pm on 9-5-2007. Such notification must indicate a complete description of proposed equipment, including narrative and specifications, and must demonstrate that it meets or exceeds the capabilities described above. Notification shall be mailed to Sherri-Lyn Teeters, Contracting Officer, Acquisition Service Center VISN 9 (90), 3400 Lebanon Pike, Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Upon receipt of any such notifications, the Contracting Officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations.
