The following verbiage is directly from the Justification and Approval for sole source and is posted in accordance with FAR 5.102(a)(6).

Cerec CAD/CAM Systems are the only system that mills porcelain, ceramic, leucite ceramic, composites, zirconia, acrylic, polyurethane, metal, zirconia abutments, full contour zirconia, metal and zirconia understructures, wax patterns, models and crown templates. They offer a full scale digital network for restrorative procedures. The milling machine will significantly reduce fabrication time. The sole source will avoid duplication of costs that is not expected to be recovered through competition, or the unacceptable delays due to the government. Chairside intraoral scanners create digital impressions of patients teeth and sends them directly to an in-office milling machine thereby reducing fabrication time and increasing productivity.
