The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Hocoma Incorporated of Rockland, MA for a Lokomat Pro, Robotic Gait Orthosis, in connection with mission objectives of the VA Spinal Cord Injury Department located at the Zablocki VA Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI. To the best of our knowledge Hocoma Incorporated is the only manufacturer of a system that provides an automated gait orthosis on a treadmill, whereas walking activity can be monitored, providing visualized performance feedback, and gait patterns and guidance force are individually adjustable to the patient's needs. This procurement is being conducted in accordance FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. The resulting contract will be firm fixed price and the NAICS Code is 334510.This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored. However, any firm that believes it can meet the aforementioned requirements is requested to submit clear and convincing evidence of their ability to comply with the above requirements to include FDA approval/compliance certification. Vendors are required to include, but not be limited to manufacturer's brochures, system properties and salient characteristics of the product.
