The VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Biomerieux, Inc. The proposed contract action is for a one (1) year order for microbiology lab supplies. The requested lab supplies must be compatible with current VA owned Biomerieux equipment due to the proprietary nature. The following lab supplies are required: " 410851 FAN Plus Aerobic Blood Culture Bottles " 410852 FAN Plus Anaerobic Blood Culture Bottles " 21341/ ID-GN Vitek2/PC Observa Card " 21342/ ID-GP Vitek2/PC Observa Card " YST21343/ ID-YST Vitek2/PC Observa Card " 21346/ ID-NH Vitek2/PC Observa Card " 22226/ AST-GP67 Vitek2/PC Observa Card " 413400/ AST-GN69 Vitek2/PC Observa Card " 21347/ ID-ANC Vitek2/PC Observa Card " 413944/ AST-EX06 Vitek2/PC Observa Card This sole source action is in accordance with FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(i)(B). Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no competitive solicitation will be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements or provide an equal product may give written notification to the contract specialist for consideration. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed above for the requested products. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
