TITLE: 70- Notice of Intent to Sole Source SOL: 36325218Q9909 DUE: Monday, September 17th, 2018 at 9 AM CST SET ASIDE: none NAICS: 339112 REQUESTING AGENCY: Network Contracting Office 12, Great Lakes Acquisition Center, 115 S. 84th Street, Suite 101, Milwaukee, WI 53214 POC: Shari Lee; [email protected] Mail all responses only to: Shari Lee at [email protected] The Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to award on a sole source basis an open market contract to Iradimed Corporation 1025 Willa Springs Dr Winter Springs, FL 32708-5235-- as the only responsible source to provide contract performance. This Small Business (Iradimed Corporation - Duns 170301969) can provide contract action to Edward Hines Jr. VA Medical Center, 5000 South 5th Ave, Hines, IL 60141-5000. Currently, this company is the only company who can provide operation based on specific salient characteristics needed at this VA Medical Center. Iradimed Corporation provides an MRI Infusion Pump; one that has a non-magnetic design. This alone allows this MRI infusion pump to operate safely in ultra-high magnetic fields without the need for workarounds used with traditional infusion pumps. For critical patients, allowing infusion of medication to be continuous within the MRI room allows continuity of infusion fluids during transports, expedited MRI Diagnosis and reduced risk of misconnections and drug mixings. This MRI also negates the possibility of blood stream infections, maintains the infusion medication tube flow to patient and stops post occlusion boluses. This can happen when subsequent manipulation of multiple connections and access ports occur. This MRI infusion pump stays connected to the critical patient 24-7, even when in the MRI. The Contracting Officer also found that the Original Equipment Manufacturer confirmed and provided a letter that only they can provide this item and they do not use distributors for this MRI Infusion pump. This procurement is a sole-source open market procurement under FAR 13.106-3(2). The applicable NAICS Code is 339112 (surgical and medical instrument manufacturing) and the size standard is 1000 employees. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. This notice of intent is not a request for quotation or a solicitation of offers. However, all quotes received within three days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement upon receipt of response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. There will be no solicitation available.
