Such patients have no options other than undergo repetitive life-saving cholesterol removal via the Liposorber filter. Without such treatment affected patients face repeated heart attacks and premature death. It is FDA approved for this indication. Libosorber filtration of bad cholesterol is FFDA approved for removal of bad cholesterol in patients who have had heart attacks and despite medications have bad cholesterol levels >190 mg/dL.
