The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina has a requirement Phoenix dialysis system. Sources are being sought for a Phoenix system that meets the requirements of the medical center. The unit must have a dialysate delivery system that uses disposable sodium bicarbonate cartridges and bicarbonate concentrate. The membrane must be heat disinfected by the machine with an on-line production of ultrapure dialysate. The system must also have a low consumption mode that reduces the use of O water, acid, and bicarbonate concentrate. Any firm that believes it can provide a system that meets the above requirements may give written notification to Barbara Simmons, Contracting Officer, VA Medical Center, Hampton, Virginia within seven days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Responses received will be evaluated, however, a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the VA Medical Center will proceed with a sole source negotiation with GAMBRO, the only known source that has a Phoenix system.
