The 10th Mission Support Group, Directorate of Contracting, United States Air Force Academy Colorado, is intending to issue a commercial purchase order to Metro Medical Equipment and Supplies, Inc., 7550 Broadway, St. Louis, MO 63147. The government intends to acquire a commercial product--two Polysomnogram equipment sets manufactured by the Nihon Kohden company. All items are brand name specific; Nihon Kohden Company supplies a commercial polysomnogram equipment product which is currently used by the Neurology Department at the USAFA hospital, in their only two sleep Rooms. Two additional rooms are required. To ensure system compatibility among all the sleep rooms, Nihon Koden Polysomnogram equipment is required. In addition, The TRICARE network approved Neurologists, who read the sleep data for the USAFA hospital, currently use Nihon Kohden Polysomnogram equipment, thus ensuring compatibility. Substitutions will not be considered. The purpose for this brand name acquisition is to provide compatibility among the sleep rooms and network providers who support the USAFA Nuerology Clinic. Nihon Kohden Polysomnogram equipment has proved to be capable of meeting the needs of the Neurology staff requirements. Nihon Kohden equipment is the only brand name equipment that can satisfy the government’s requirements. The North America Industry Classification System Code [NAICS] is 423450 and the size standard is 100 employees. This acquisition will be conducted as an 8(a) set-aside.
