These containers are used to enclose critical reusable medical equipment that is to be sterilized by the facility. It allows sterilization of the enclosed critical reusable medical equipment and maintains sterility of the enclosed device until used. The National Program Office of Sterile Processing has citing the facility for the lack of standardization of sterilization containers.
