INFINITY HANDPIECE & INJECTORS General Scope of Work.
The Surgical service of the VA Caribbean Healthcare System has increased the number of Cataract procedures that are schedule on a daily basis from 5 cases to 10 cases. With the equipment available at this time cases are in back schedule for almost one year. The Cataract procedures are performed using the Infinity Vision System.
Description of Service.
The Infinity Vision System is designed for use in anterior segment procedure that requires simultaneous cataract lens extraction, irrigation, and aspiration, as well as associated procedures such as vitrectomy and coagulation. It was developed with a dual versatility and control. The system is designed to allow the surgeon to customize the treatment of every patient.
Special Work Requirements:
This instrument is urgently needed due to an increase of surgical cataract procedures performed in a daily basis. The actual system used since 2009 are performed using the Infinity Vision System distributed by ALCON Puerto Rico. All Surgical physicians are trained with the used of the Infinity System. Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and competencies are on place using the Infinity Vision System.
