The VA (Veterans Affairs) Eastern Colorado Healthcare System (ECHCS) located in Denver, CO intends to negotiate sole source with SonoSite, Inc. to provide a SonoSite S-Nerve 1.2.6 high resolution, all digital ultrasound system with digital display and a 10-5 MHz Transducer Biopsy Compatible. ECHCS Anesthesiologists currently utilize a SonoSite ultrasound system and are familiar with its use. The quality of the image has been determined to be the best for which the VA is using it for. Additionally, the VA intends to interchange probes that are currently being utilized with the SonoSite S-Nerve. Due to the specialized nature of this requirement the familiarity of this technology is of paramount importance and is our intent to minimize the potential technical problems keeping our patients health and well being a top priority. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within the due date of receipt of proposals will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government to not compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted.
