The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, New Orleans, LA., intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Medtronic Inc., to provide the Stealth Station Brain Navigational System. It is the belief of the Government that there is currently one responsible source capable of providing the equipment to satisfy the agency requirement. A justification for other than full and open competition is prepared in support of this acquisition. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is soley within the discretion of the Government. Informaiton received will be considered soley for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Only contractors that are regularly established in the business, with staff that are trained and experienced on this type of equipment will be considered.
