This Federal Business Opportunity Announcement is notice the Tri-Service Regional Business Office (TRBO) Regions 6, 7 & 8 which includes 46 Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) in the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, M issouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming is initiating the standardization process for the product line of Sterile Disposable Drapes and/or Gowns for Hospital Use. The intent of this standardization is to establish regionally preferred sources for hospital supply items and to standardize purchasing of these products for the MTFs. Clinical Product Team (CPTs) composed of healthcare workers who have expertise and knowl edge of the products, will evaluate this product line. They will review and technically evaluate the products submitted. Their recommendation can be accomplished by literature review, presentation, demonstration or clinical evaluation. Suppliers may be r equired to provide clinical samples at no cost to the government for the evaluation. Review the DMMonline website @ https: //dmmonline.dscp.dla.mil/standardization to learn more about the Regional Standardization Program. Vendors interested in having their products evaluated for possible inclusion in the standardization process should carefully review the stated requirements below. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS for disposable Drapes and/or Gowns include, but are not limited to: 1. Company must provide a full produ ct line of drapes that encompasses all surgical specialties and subspecialties 2. Free from stains and abrasions 3. Low or non-linting/free of toxic ingredients 4. Materials are of acceptable quality level (free from holes and defects) 5. Must be si ngle use items 6. Gowns must be safe, comfortable, in various sizes and easily identifiable 7. Impervious gowns must meet ASTM 1670/1671 standards 8. All gowns and draping material must meet NFPA Class I Standards 9. Drapes must be flexible and conf orming 10. Must be sterile 11. All products must be Latex Free 12. Products must be available to the MTFs through Cardinal Health, the DoD Medical-Surgical Prime Vendor for Regions 6, 7 & 8. If your company currently holds a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) for the Medical-Surgical product line for Sterile Disposable Drapes and/or Gowns for Hospital use your company is eligible to participate in the standardization effort for this region. If your company is not a current DAPA holder for this product line, you may still be eligible to participate in this standardization effort for this region by contacting the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP), Ms. Kim Nichols at (215) 737-7124 or e-mail ([email protected]) to apply for a DAPA. Your company will be considered once DAPA paperwork is pending at DSCP and you provide your DSCP log number to the TRBO point-of-contact (POC) for this product line, Jim Quinn at (210) 916-6309 or email: [email protected]. If your company can provide Sterile Disposable Drapes and/or Gowns for Hospital use, please forward literature of all items available from your company that meet the product descriptions above and any corresponding product literature no later than 13 October 2006. Those companies tha t do not reply by this date may be eliminated from consideration.
