STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)
Storz Blue Light Cystoscopy System
Northport VA Medical Center, Northport NY (632)
Urology Department
1. Introduction and Overview
The Northport VAMC Urology department performs several bladder examinations each week and will use white light cystoscopy to visually inspect the bladder during the procedure.
1.1 Background
Currently, we use standard white light cystoscopy to see the bladder with the hope of detecting cancer during examination. The Blue light fluoroscopy system illuminates the bladder with a blue image after a patient swallows a dye. This increases the likelihood of detecting tumors easier for patients who have been repeatedly diagnosed with cancer of the bladder.
1.2 Scope of Work
Our scope is to acquire one Storz Blue Light Cystoscopy System.
Objectives
The primary objective is to purchase one Storz Blue Light Cystoscopy System. Fluorescence cystoscopy, although not yet widely used in the United States, has been shown to be effective for detecting tumors in the bladder that might not be visible with standard cystoscopy. The Cystoscopy tower includes a 70 telescope, fluid light cable, blue light camera head, blue light camera processor, D-light light source, 26 LED HD monitor, screen protector, Aida digital recorder, video printer and cart. The equipment has a digital recorder to record digital and still images. If the surgeon decides to take photos of the bladder, they are printed, scanned by the secretary and uploaded in the patients chart.
