Cost range is $1,000,000 - $5,000,000. Taxus stents as in recent tests, with head to head comparison, with other stents was superior in flexability and utilizes specific drugs that are required for CAVHS patient needs. Other stents utilized within our facility are compatible with the taxus stents but utilize different drugs. Price is not the sole determining factor for the use of a particular type stent. Further, there shall be an inventory maintained within our hospital facility for stent case purposes. This announcement shall close on or about (15 days), 2005. The cath lab at VA hospital is in need for these stents for simple reason that they are better than bare metal stents and are flexible. A more flexible stent gives you better deliverability and comformability which allows you to treat a wider variety of lesions with more gratifying results.
