This is not a request for proposals or a request for quote. There is no solicitation document available. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Columbia South Carolina intends to award sole source procurement to Biomerieux Inc. to provide equipment and services listed below. The applicable NAICS for this acquisition is 423450 with a business size standard of 100. The proposed contract is for equipment and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the Authority of FAR 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) and FAR 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The DORN VAMC Columbia currently has the Biomerieux Vitek System and license on station, this requirement is to upgrade and provided continued standardization of equipment and services at the DORN VAMC Columbia. The statutory authority for this sole source procurement is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). This procurement is being conducted using FAR Part 12 procedures. No extraction required for routine Gram positive and Gram negative organisms. " Yeast extraction must be on-slide formic acid prior to the addition of matrix solution. No off-board extraction for routine yeast. " Must be able to decentralize target slide set-up through the use of sample prep stations at each plate-reading bench.
