The Department of Veterans Affairs, NCA 8 NF/SG, intends to enter into sole source award with Hologic Limited Partnership of Marlborough, MA, for ThinPrep Pap Test Kits for the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center, 1601 SW Archer Rd, Gainesville, FL 32608-1135. The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by supplies available from one source. Only the requested Pap test kits are compatible with the THINPREP 2000 Processor in use at the facility. This announcement is for supplies for which the Government intends to award with only one source under FAR 6.302-1 and FAR 13.106-1(b). Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
