Minimal Essential Characteristics
Must meet all specifications below:
The USAMRICD requires several Chiral columns for supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) with the following characteristics:
Pirkle-type Chiral columns
A pirkle-type column stationary phase is required to continue research for the chiral separation of the enantiomers of chemical warfare nerve agents. We have already published initial results in the open literature using the WhelkO1 column. Currently this chiral column is only available through Regis Technologies.
Columns must be 15 cm (long) x 3 mm (id) and 5 cm (long) x 2.1 mm (id) with a particle size of less than or equal to 3.5 um.
Columns must capable of both normal and reverse phase chromatography.
Columns must be compatible with both HPLC and SFC.
Columns must have covalently bonded chemistry to the silica particle.
Columns must be available with opposite absolution configuration to allow inversion of elution order of chiral analytes.

Polysaccharide-coated stationary phase chiral columns
Columns must contain tris (3,5-dimethylphenylcarbamate) and tris (5-chloro-2-methylphenylcarbamate) as stationary phase.
Columns must be 25 cm (long) x 4.6 mm (id) and 25 cm (long) x 10 mm (id) with a particle size of less than or equal to 5 um.
Columns must have a high pressure limit of 450bar.
Columns must be compatible with both HPLC and SFC.
