THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. No solicitation will be issued. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract in accordance to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), authorized or required by statue and FAR 8.405-6 Limiting Sources. This is one time procurement. The VISN 10 Network Contracting Office intends to award a sole source porcurement with Olympus to purchase:
(1)IPN-2505 Inviso Smith Percutaneous NEP Hroscope.
The procurement will be for the VAMC Cincinnati, Ohio. The estimated amounted is $11,250.00. The Government believes that Olympus is the only company that can satisfy the agency requirements. Therefore, the Government intends to proceed with sole source procurement for the required equipment. FAR Part 8.402(f) indicates for administrative convenience, an ordering activity contracting officer may add items not on the Federal Supply Schedule (also referred to as open market items) to a Federal Supply Schedule blanket purchase agreement (BPA) or an individual task or delivery order. To the best of our knowledge, Olympus is the only source that provides the above indicated items and features. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 339112 and the size standard is 500 employees. This is not a request for proposals; however, an interested party may e-mail a written capability statement for these required items, which shall not exceed two (2) pages in length. Interested parties may submit their capability statement, which may or may not be considered by the agency via email to
[email protected] no later than 4:00 PM EDT on September 18, 2012. If no responses are received, the Cincinnati VA Medical Center will proceed with sole source procurement with Olympus.
