The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS), Tucson, AZ 85723 intends to negotiate a firm fixed-price contract with Volcano Corporation, 3661 Valley Centre Dr, Ste 200, San Deigo, CA 92130 on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. The acquisition will be accomplished using commercial item procedures in accordance with FAR Part 12 for the purchase of the Volcano s5i Imaging system to include all miscellaneous equipment, additional training and three years maintenance for the systems. The contractor will be required to provide delivery and setup to include the integration of the system with previously synopsized and purchased Volcano s5i imaging systems. All service will be required under the normal business hours and must be certified by Volcano Corporation to provide any maintenance to the systems. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 334510. Any firms who wish to identify their interests and capability to provide this equipment and service must provide proof that authorization from the manufacturer has been attained by notifying the Contracting Officer no later than 3:00 PM local, March 30, 2010. Such notification must include any documentation that includes certifications and description of services that meets or exceeds the capabilities of the manufacturer. Upon receipt of any such notifications, the Contracting Officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations. Responses received will be evaluated, however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Volcano Corporation.
