The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate and award a contract to procure Wallflex Biliary Stent Systems from the manufacturer, Boston Scientific Corporation, 1 Boston Scientific Place, Natick, MA 01760 for the VA Boston Healthcare System, Jamaica Plains Division. These specific metal Wallflex Biliary Stent Systems were developed based on Boston Scientific proprietary technology. The systems are needed for the palliative treatment of biliary strictures produced by malignant neoplasms and to relieve large bowel obstruction prior to colectomy in patients with malignant strictures. The solicitation will be released on a sole source basis to Boston Scientific, the manufacturer and only known supplier of these Wallflex Biliary Stents. The applicable NAICS code is 339112. The FSC/PSC is 6515. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302.1-1 Only One Responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation will be posted to this site.
