Under Statutory Authority ร‚ยง 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), the VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center anticipates entering into sole source procurement negotiations with ALLEN MEDICAL SYSTEMS, 1 POST OFFICE SQUARE, ACTION MA 01720 for the purchase of a Brand name Allen Yellofin Elite Leg Holders for the William S Middleton VAMC, located in Madison WI. This announcement is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1. The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by supplies available from one source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by OCTOBER 28, 2014. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Specifically: The following part numbers: 0-YFES-A4, 0-AMA68S0.6S-D, 0-RCW-A4,A-30015-A1; allen yellofin elite, yellofin reusable pad set, rail clamp, allen stiffup cart. The Madison VAMC currently owns Allen Yellofin leg positioners. We require an additional set for use in positioning patients in lithotomy and abduction for specialty surgeries. Brand Allen YelloFin Elite leg holders. The Madison VAMC already owns two sets of these yellofin leg holders and the new acquisition needs to be seamlessly interchangeable with our current product. Leg holder needs to adjust for abduction and lithotomy in patients up to 500 lbs. Hand controls for device must be at distal end of device to prevent contamination of sterile field. Product must cover and protect fibular head and peroneal nerve and also assist the user with lifting legs. Lithotomy range must be +84degrees to -33degrees.
