The Department of Veterans Affairs Mid Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6) intends to contract with Metro Medical for the procurement of two Zeiss OPMI Lumera 700 Microscopes and accessories (see attached product list) for the Health Care Clinic (HCC) in Fayetteville, NC, which is under construction at this time. The OPMI Lumera 700 is needed as an integral part of the Zeiss Surgical Workplace. Delivery is to be made to the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC by October 6, 2014 or 30 days ARO. The proposed contract is for equipment for which the government intends to contract on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This notice of intent to sole source is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than 2:00 PM, September 8, 2014, local time. Interested parties must submit all technical information required to make a determination that the proposed units meet or exceed the specifications of the above referenced unit. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract, based on responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
