The Department of Veterans Affairs Mid Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6) intends to negotiate brand name sole source procurement with Metro Medical for one Zeiss OPMI Vario 700 Microscope and accessories for the Health Care Clinic in Fayetteville, NC which is under construction at this time. Delivery to be scheduled for June 2015.The proposed contract is for equipment for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This notice of intent to sole source is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than 2:00 PM, August 6, 2014, local time. Interested parties must submit all technical information required to make a determination that the proposed units meet or exceed the specifications of the above referenced unit. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
