THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. This is a Sources Sought (SS) notice issued in accordance with FAR 15.201(e) to conduct market research. This SS is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a promise to issue a RFQ in the future. This sources sought does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is not, at this time, seeking quotes and will not accept unsolicited quotes. Responders are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this SS; all costs associated with responding to this SS will be solely at the interested vendor's expense. Not responding to this SS does not preclude participation in any future RFQ, if any is issued. Any information submitted by respondents to this SS is strictly voluntary. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned. This announcement is based upon the best information available and is subject to future modification. OVERVIEW: The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 15, has a requirement for the purchase of one Phacoemulsification/Cataract Extraction at the Evansville Health Care Center, Evansville, IL. It is anticipated that this will be a one-time purchase. The successful proposer must be able to: Must be able to provide a Phacoemulsification/Cataract Extraction Unit which includes non-contact modality that provides the most accurate IOL calculations with more superior post-operative results. Minimum Technical Specification Requirements: The requirements are listed, but are not limited to, the below: Measurement Range: Axial length14-38mm, Corneal radii 5-11mm, Anterior chamber depth 0.7-8mm, Lens thickness 1-10mm (phakic eye); 0.13-2.5mm (pseudophakic eye), Central corneal thickness 0.2-1.2mm, White-to-white 8-16mm. Display scaling: Axial length 0.01mm, Corneal radii 0.01mm, Anterior chamber depth 0.01mm, Lens thickness 0.01mm, Central corneal thickness 1um, White-to-white 0.1mm. SD of repeatability: Axial length 5um, Corneal radii 0.09D, Cylinder >0.75D, axis 3.8 degrees, Anterior chamber depth 7um, Lens thickness 6um, Central corneal thickness 2.5um, White-to-white 111um. calculation formulas: License Total Keratometry: Barrett TK Universal II and Barrett TK Toric, Barrett Suite (includes Barrett Toric, Barrett True-K & barrett Universal II), Haigis Suite (includes Haigis, Haigis-L, Haigis-T), Hoffer Q, Holladay 1 and 2, SRK/T. Interfaces: Zeiss FORUM eye care data management system, Zeiss computer -assisted cataract surgery system CALLISTO eye (via USB & FORUM), Data interface for electronic medical record (EMR)/patient management systems (PMS), Holladay IOL Consultant softward and PhacoOptics, data export to USB storage media, Ethernet port for network connection and network printer. Line frequency 50-60 Hz Power consumption max. 150VA Laser class 1 II.
