This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract and is not a request for quotes. The Department of Veterans Affairs on behalf of the Lebanon VA Medical Center and the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP), sole source action to; Name of Contractor: Becton, Dickinson, and Company Street Address: 1 Becton Dr City, State, Zip: Franklin Lakes, NJ, 07417 The objective of this action is to procure infusion pump hardware and professional services in the procurement and deployment of BD/Alaris Infusion Pump Systems as detailed below. Market research was conducted in accordance with FAR part 10. Government technical experts evaluated infusion pumps currently available in the marketplace, specifically focusing on salient characteristics outlined in the Statement of Need. This notice of intent to sole source with justification for sole source satisfies the public posting requirements of FAR 13.501. The scope of this procurement is to procure additional Infusion Pumps to augment the existing fleet of pumps in use across VA. All equipment procured under this resultant contract shall be compatible with the firmware and software of the current infusion equipment in use at the facility. Becton, Dickinson, and Company will provide all hardware, software, and professional services to allow the seamless integration of additional controllers and/or modules. The following components comprise the Alaris Infusion System for this requirement. VA-MDNS Category or Product Description Model MODEL INFUSION PUMPS: MULTITHERAPY: SYRINGE 8110 INFUSION PUMPS: MULTITHERAPY 8100 INFUSION CONTROLLERS 8015 INFUSION PUMPS: ANALGESIC: PATIENT-CONTROLLED 8120 MONITORS: PHYSIO: EXHALED CO2: BEDSIDE/INTRAOP 8300 Auto ID Module 8600 Auto ID Scanner 8650 The certificates of medical necessity confirm that the facilities evaluated the benefits and risks associated with the affected products and determined they have immediate medical needs that require shipment of infusion pumps subject to the recall to ensure uninterrupted patient care or to initiate remediation to Alaris System software v12.1.3, which addresses the issues outlined in the February 4, 2020, software-related recall letter. Veterans Health Administration prohibits the use of gray market items in their Medical Centers. Gray market items are considered to be items outside of the original equipment manufacturer s intended distribution channels. This notice of intent to sole source is not a request for quotes;
