STATEMENT OF WORK INTRODUCTION: As part of the new Portland CBOC clinic build, a comprehensive Audiology specialty clinic will be included. The Audiology clinic will incorporate diagnostic audiologic and amplification fitting (hearing aid) services as part of its comprehensive audiologic service delivery model. The ICS Monocular VNG allows for the ear specific diagnostic evaluation of the vestibular system to determine if a vestibular deficit may be the cause of a dizziness or balance problem. TITLE OF PROJECT: Purchasing ICS Monocular VNG AUTHORITY FOR THE PROJECT: Project has been reviewed and approved by the Chief of Logistics. PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT: Purchase ICS Monocular VNG for new Audiology clinic at new Portland VA clinic BACKGROUND: As part of the new Portland CBOC clinic build, a comprehensive Audiology specialty clinic will be included. The Audiology clinic will incorporate diagnostic audiologic and amplification fitting (hearing aid) services as part of its comprehensive audiologic service delivery model. The ICS Monocular VNG tests the visual pathways to the brain, evaluates the function of the equilibrium system in each inner ear and providers information of how these systems work together. SCOPE AND METHODOLOGY: Audiologists utilize the above equipment to track and record patient eye movements measured in response to stimuli presented via infrared cameras to the goggles. The eye movements reflect the functionality of the equilibrium system of each inner ear. TASKS AND ASSOCIATED DELIVERABLES: ICS Monocular VNG will be delivered as part of agreement of purchase w/ vendor- installation and calibration are required.
