The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 5ÃÂ intends to award a Sole Source Firm-Fixed-PriceÃÂ Contract toÃÂ Summit Medical Inc. for the custom-made PHACO, 34 piece sterilization cataract instrument trays needed for the ophthalmology surgery department within the Martinsburg, West Virginia VA Medical Center.ÃÂ These custom trays were constructed to enclose and hold surgical instruments and instrument accessories in an organized manner during the sterilization process as well as storage and transportation into scheduled surgery.ÃÂ

This contract action is for products for which the Government intends to award with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.5. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability in response to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs associated with the preparation of responses to this notification.
